CBU’s Power Talks for Women Embrace Personal Branding
Laurie Tucker, Senior VP of FedEx Corporate Marketing, Featured Speaker

Memphis – Laurie A. Tucker, Senior Vice President, Corporate Marketing, FedEx Services is the featured speaker at Christian Brothers University's (CBU) "Power Talks for Women" on Thursday, February 26, 6:30 p.m. in Spain Auditorium.

Tucker will discuss "Building Your Personal Brand." She has implemented this philosophy in her workplace by dedicating herself to her employees and providing the skills and career resources they need to do the best job possible. She has instituted many growth programs for her employees including a diversity council, mentoring program and an awards and recognitions program, and was the first recipient of the FedEx Services Diversity Champion Award.

As the Senior Vice President of FedEx Corporate Marketing, Tucker leads the organization responsible for managing and developing marketing strategy, product innovation and development, retail product and promotion, business alliances, sponsorship programs, customer experience management, brand management and advertising.

Under Tucker’s leadership, recent accolades include the FedEx Super Bowl spot, "Stick", which garnered a Primetime Emmy Award from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. This was the first FedEx ad to win an Emmy Award. Last year’s Super Bowl spot, "Carrier Pigeons" was voted one of the most popular commercials (according to a Super Bowl "Ad Meter" poll conducted by USA Today) and has received dozens of industry awards. In addition, Tucker is the four-time winner of the prestigious FedEx Five Star award.

Tucker joined Federal Express in 1978 as a financial analyst. Since then, she has gained professional and management experience in product development, marketing, technology, sales, pricing, invoicing, finance, customer service, retail, advertising, operations and supply chain operations.

Tucker received a B.A. and M.B.A. from the University of Memphis. She serves on the University of Memphis Board of Visitors as well as the Board of Directors of Iron Mountain, Inc. Tucker is also the FedEx co-chair for the March of Dimes and has been a United Way Alexis de Tocqueville Society member since 1998.
