CBU Wins Gold and Silver
Tennessee College PR Association Awards

The Communications & Marketing department at Christian Brothers University (CBU) won three advertising and marketing awards -- one gold and two silver -- at the 2009 Tennessee College Public Relations Association (TCPRA) Spring Conference held May 14.

The awards included gold in the radio ad category for the radio commercial, "Invest in Yourself... the Time is Now," silver in the reports category for the 2008 President’s Report and 2009 Desk Calendar, and silver in the overall promotional campaign category for the "Invest in Yourself... the Time is Now" campaign.

"This is an outstanding accomplishment for CBU in a competition that highlighted some of the best public relations work by colleges and universities throughout the state," said Executive Director for Communications & Marketing Elisa Marus. "It is among the highest honors to be recognized by experts in the industry but more importantly to be recognized as a leader in our field of higher education."

The entries are independently judged by professionals from outside advertising, marketing, or public relations professionals. Each entry submitted was evaluated against other entries in that category. Judging is based on overall creativity of the piece, marketing execution and impact of message.

Formed in 1975, the TCPRA is an alliance of communicators who represent many of Tennessee's public and private colleges and universities, two-year technical schools, technology centers and community colleges and work to define higher education in the state.
