A Creative Writing and Art Workshop for High School Students
~ WORKSHOP IS FILLED. THERE ARE NO MORE SLOTS OPEN FOR ENROLLMENT. ~
Date: Wednesday, October 1, 2008
Time: 3:30 - 5:30 p.m.
Location: Kenrick Hall, Room 24 Christian Brothers University
Looking back at where we have been can help us see where we are going. Engaging the theme "Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been," this workshop will take a look at students' vision of themselves yesterday, today, and tomorrow, and will incorporate it into imagistic creative writing and visual art.
This interdisciplinary program will feature presentations and activities by CBU professors Jana B. Travis and Karen Golightly as well as poet Eliza Warren and artist Michael Prater. Warren, a Memphis poet, has spent years teaching across the country and in Korea. Prater, a self-taught painter and collage artist, is known in the art world as "Lo-Fi." Together, they will engage students in the exploration of these mediums.
This event is free and open to all students in grades 9 - 12. Seating is limited and advance registration is required. Please register using our online form or call (901) 321-3335.
