Haught’s research and teaching interests include environmental philosophy, ethics, and aesthetics. In addition to his ongoing research in environmental virtue ethics, he is currently working on projects concerning environmental justice and David Hume’s moral philosophy.
One of the things that drew Haught to CBU is its Lasallian tradition of attending to the education of the whole person. His view is that courses in philosophy and ethics have a strong role to play in support of this mission, especially as students learn how to apply philosophical thinking to their own life choices. Haught regularly teaches courses in ethics, environmental ethics, and the history of philosophy.
