Finance Concentration

The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in finance is designed for students planning careers in financial analysis, banking, insurance, retirement planning and investment banking.  Coursework includes corporate finance, investments, capital markets and institutions and financial management.  Students may also choose electives covering derivatives, portfolio management, financial statement analysis, fixed income securities and international financial management.

Students are required to complete an internship or research project designed to prepare them to enter the corporate world at graduation.  Working under the guidance of a member of the finance faculty, this experience provides our graduates with an invaluable opportunity to enhance their resume as well as transition smoothly from college to corporate.

The finance faculty at CBU provide a blend of extensive academic preparation and real-world experience.  Our small class sizes (classes are capped at 24 students) allow interaction between students and faculty.

The mission of the finance concentration at CBU is to endow students with the knowledge, analytic capability, critical thinking, leadership skills, and the ethical basis essential to successful and responsible business careers in a rapidly changing and technologically driven global business enterprise.
