BACHELOR OF ARTS IN
LIBERAL STUDIES, CHILD DEVELOPMENT, OR SPECIAL EDUCATION
Designed to provide intensive study in various subjects to ensure that those who choose teaching careers have strong content knowledge as well as excellent pedagogical preparation. There has never been a greater need for qualified teachers, and the state of Tennessee has authorized CBU to endorse an individual’s readiness to teach. Licensure is available at the Master of Arts in Teaching level. (link to academic page for MAT)
• The Child Development degree includes coursework required for licensure to teach Pre-K through 3rd grade.
• The Liberal Studies degree can be used for preparation for a career in teaching kindergarten through grade 6. The majority of classes are also available in the evening.
• The Special Education degree helps students become certified to teach children with special needs in grades K-12.
