Born in Chicago, Nancy White has made Memphis her home for many years while serving as Associate Professor of Art at the University of Memphis. Nancy received her B.A. in Art Education, majoring in ceramics, at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL, and her M.F.A. at Alfred University in Alfred, NY. Since 1969, she exhibited her work in over 106 shows in Johnson City, Nashville, Knoxville, and Memphis, TN, as well as in Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Arizona, California, New Jersey, Florida, Oregon, Colorado, New York, and Washington, DC. Her work has won many merit awards in competition and find themselves in numerous private collections throughout the United States. Nancy and her work are among the many quiet hidden treasures of Memphis and we are honored to begin 2001 by presenting her art at Christian Brothers University Gallery.
