Research by Subject - Images & Image Galleries

There are numerous sources of images on the Internet. Many of them, particularly those from the U.S. government, are in the public domain, and images can be used with proper attribution. See the Library of Congress' Online Modules for help in understanding copyright and fair use as they apply to visual materials.

Google Books	multidisciplinary	Search for and find books on a topic. (Using advanced search allows you to limit results to full view books, books that are in the public domain.) Illustrations are extracted under the "About this Book" link. Once you've opened a book, several tools display on the toolbar. With the "clip" tool, you can create and embed links.
