Full Job Description:
Express Business Solutions is in the business of delivering high value services that result in additional technology infrastructure savings for FedEx Express business units. Meet our Express Business Solutions Service Teams:
-
Domain and Application Support collaborates closely with Express business units to provide and monitor technology resources and services.
-
Business Requirements Analysis and Development uses industry-standard approaches to elicit and document business requirements.
-
Quality Assurance & Implementation Support participates in initial requirement elicitation to ensure requirements are testable. This team works with business units to define, create and execute test cases and also assists with the implementation of new systems.

Decision Support Systems delivers data and information to a diverse group of internal business customers across FedEx Express using development tools such as VB.NET, ColdFusion, Oracle and SQL.

Strategy, Management and Performance (SMP) manages a wide range of FedEx Express IT assets through every step of the device lifecycle ensuring financial oversight is provided and consistent processes are followed.
Education: Bachelor’s degree/equivalent in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or other quantitative disciplines
Minimum Experience: Demonstrated problem solving skills. Demonstrated planning / organizing ability and strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills (listening, verbal, written). Experience using Microsoft office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. For Decision Support Systems interns, experience with databases and/or web-based development. Responsibilities for Express Business Solutions Associate Business Systems Analyst may include the following: • Assist in defining and documenting requirements for business solutions. • Assist in the planning and implementation of software testing. • Assist in planning, designing and supporting web-based decision support tools • Contribute to project plans and presentations to management. • Assist in lifecycle management activities for field assets. • Assist in the planning and governance of FedEx Express Technology projects.

This will allow students to spend a day with an insurance professional, learn more about the industry and day-to-day responsibilities of those who work in that field. Summer employment applications are currently being accepted at the Griffiss Institute for project work to be done for the Air Force Research Laboratory, Information Directorate, Rome NY. The mission of the Information Directorate is to lead the discovery, development, and integration of affordable war-fighting information technologies for our air, space and cyberspace force.
To help accomplish this mission, our primary areas of focus will involve those students pursuing degrees in the fields of Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering. Individuals selected for the projects will work at state-of-the-art facilities alongside world-class scientists and engineers.
Applications will be accepted through February 24, 2012. The 2012 application process for students is located on the Griffiss Institute website at: www.griffissinstitute.org/summerinternprogram.html
