What computer should I buy?
We primarily use Windows campus-wide, though Macintosh computers are supported. When purchasing a new Windows computer, it should have the Vista operating system installed. In that case, Vista requires at least 2gb of RAM, an 80gb hard drive, and an Intel Core 2 Duo processor or its equivalent. This is sufficient for our environment. For improved performance, we would suggest that you upgrade your video card to one that has 128mb of RAM.
If you already own a computer and are concerned about compatibility, below are the minimum requirements:
PC
Operating System: Windows XP or Later Processor: Pentium IV or later Network Adapter: 10/100 Base-T Hard Drive: 40gb RAM: 512mb
Mac
Operating System: OSX 10.4 or later
Processor: PowerMac G4 or later Network Adapter: 10/100 Base-T Hard Drive: 60gb RAM: 512mb
