9/10 Boot Camp/Memphis Challenge & CBU Enactus
Wednesday, July 09, 2014, 09:10am - 03:00pm
THE 9/10 MOVEMENT
The goal of the 9/10 program will be to expose students to the skills and knowledge needed to perform at a high level of academic and community leadership. The Memphis Challenge, Inc. proposes the development of a two-year pilot to create an earlier talent identification and development program that would provide enrichment activities to a selected pool of ninth graders in year 1. This effort would continue through the summer as their sophomore year concluded year 2 of the pilot. Students who successfully complete the 9/10 program will be advised to apply to the Memphis Challenge and become a part of the larger applicant pool of juniors.
Module I: Enhancing the Foundation for Success - Boot Camp (July 7-30, 2014)
This module focuses on creating a “culture of intellectual sophistication” for students. Students who do not understand the importance of “doing what is required, when it is required” find academic success difficult. This module emphasizes personal responsibility for setting and reaching goals.
- Students will meet at Christian Brothers University Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 9:10 am - 3 pm.
- Boot Camp is NO COST!
- Lunch is available at the Christian Brothers University cafeteria. (Average cost is $5-7)
