CBU Lasallian Formation Summer 2017

Lasallian Generalate, Manhattan College, Lewis University

International Formation Program

The International Program is offered each year and held in Rome. Participants from around the globe participate and learn about the Christian Brothers’ unique charism in the Lasallian Mission.

Christian Brothers University will be represented this summer by two members of our administration — Carolyn Head (CFO/Executive Vice President for Administration and Finance) and Dr. James McGuffee (Dean of the School of Sciences).

Buttimer Institute

Brother Charles Henry Buttimer was the first Superior General of the Brothers of the Christian Schools from the United States, who was elected by the Brothers in 1966. Prior to Brother Charles, all Superior Generals had come from France.

The Buttimer Institute is a three-week program and held this summer (2017, 2018, and 2019) at Manhattan College in New York City. Two members of the CBU faculty will participate this year — Dr. Bevalee Vitali (Associate Professor of Management/Marketing/Economics) and Dr. Jeffrey Sable (Associate Professor of Behavioral Science).

Midwest District Days

Three members of the CBU staff will participate in the Midwest District Days during the month of July. This is the first time the District has hosted faculty and staff members from our ministries, and this year’s District Days will be held on the campus of Lewis University in Romeoville, IL. CBU staff members who will participate are Amy Ware (Director of Career Services), Stephanie Mathis (Coordinator of International Student Services), and Cory Majors (Dean of Academic Services and Faculty Development).

We look forward to hearing from all our participants in their various Lasallian Programs prior to and throughout the 2017-18 Academic Year at CBU.
