
Overview
If you are interested in History & Politics, you have come to the right place. Through our department, you can obtain a Major in History and Minors in History, Political Science, Pre-Law, American Studies, and Women's Studies. The Department contributes to both the CBU Day and Evening programs with a wide variety of courses. You can choose among introductory courses on Western Civilization, World History, and U.S. History. You would also be able to pick from a variety of upper division courses offered, ranging from Ancient History to the Civil War, to Modern American and Modern European History. The Political Science courses we offer include introductory courses on U.S. Government and World Politics, as well as upper level courses in Comparative Politics, International Law, U.S. Foreign Policy, and Politics and Science Fiction.
We also invite you to join the the History faculty and a number of students and become active in Phi Alpha Theta, the International Honorary History Society. Alpha Delta Phi, the local chapter, is regularly engaged in service projects and stages a number of social and educational events that are open to members and non-members during the academic year. These include the sponsoring of speakers to the campus as well as visits to exhibitions and museums. Our members have also presented scholarly papers at regional and national Phi Alpha Theta conferences.
