Hospitality & Tourism Management
CBU through collaboration with FH Joanneam in Bad Gleichenberg, Austria is offering a new concentration within the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree program.
The Hospitality & Tourism Management concentration educates managers who can organize and implement touristic offers in the hospitality and leisure fields. If you decide to complete the Hospitality & Tourism concentration, you will spend three months (October-December) studying at the partner university in Bad Gleichenberg which is located in the Spa Region of eastern Styria. This location is ideal because it is one of the leading tourist regions in Austria both in terms of quantity and quality and continues to achieve above-average growth rates in the tourism sector. Bad Gleichenberg has a long tradition as a spa resort and training centre for the tourism and hotel industry.
Courses in this concentration include Introduction to Tourism (4 credit hours), Foundation in Hospitality Management (3 credit hours), Event Management (1 credit hour), Applied Project in Tourism (4 credit hours), and Practicum/Project in Hospitality Management (3 credit hours). If you are a Business Administration major, you can add Hospitality & Tourism Management as a second concentration, or it could serve as your only concentration requirement. If you are an Accounting major looking for extra credit hours in order to sit for the CPA exam, you may also find this concentration appealing.
Costs included in this study abroad program are the standard tuition and fees paid to CBU (students do not pay tuition to the school in Austria), airline tickets, dorm room (very affordable), and food. For more information, please contact Dr. James T. Allen at (901) 321-4222 or email@example.com.
