How to find your MAC address in MacOS X 10.4 (Tiger)


1. Bring up your "System Preferences" Window

  • Go to the Apple and Click on it so that the menu drops down
  • Go to the "Location" Sub Menu, and go to "Network Preferences..." (See Figure1)

2. Locate your Ethernet MAC address:

  • The "System Preferences" Window will open on your screen in the Network Control Panel

  • Click on the "show" popup menu, and select "Built-in Ethernet." Then, click on the tab labeled "Ethernet." Look for the "Ethernet ID" on this screen.(See Figure 2)

3. Locate your AirPort MAC address: (Optional)

  • Click on the "show" popup menu, and select "AirPort." Then, click on the tab labeled "AirPort." Look for the "AirPort ID" on this screen.(See Figure 3)
