International Student Spotlight: Sriya Bahunuthula

Sriya Bahunuthula

Does your name have a special meaning? My name means prosperity.
Hyderabad (India)
Computer Science and Cyber Security & Digital Forensics with Engineering Concentration and Video Game Design Minor.
Class Year: Sophomore
Tell us about yourself:
I am an international student from India. I am a very outgoing and open-minded person. I love adventures and taking risks. Currently, I am pursuing an undergraduate degree at Christian Brothers University. I love traveling.
Why did you choose to come to CBU?
I chose to come to CBU because of its outstanding course curriculum. The fact that it was so diverse grabbed my attention.
What are your involvements at CBU or clubs did you join at CBU?
I am a member of Theta-Tau Professional engineering fraternity, Honors CBU, Vice Chair of ACM, IEEE, Resident Assistant in Maurelian Halls.
What advice do you have for new international students to help them adjust to life in the U.S.?
I would tell them to not worry about getting homesick. College life in the United States is full of adventures. You get to have new experiences every day. My advice to them would be to get more involved in the CBU community if they want to get that real college experience. You get a chance to live independently, so use that opportunity to the fullest without exceeding any limits.
What do you enjoy most about being an international student at CBU?
I love to experience new cultures and traditions every day! I like the fact that I can be around people who I would probably never get a chance to associate with in my life, if not for CBU.
If CBU students visited India, where should they go and why?
I would recommend them to visit my home city. Hyderabad (pictured above). It is really popular for its food and ancient history. I would also recommend them to visit Delhi so that they can check out the astounding monument and of course one of the world wonders, Taj Mahal.
