Material in the Library for Faculty
Locating
Library Material
To search the Library's online catalog, click on the CBU
Catalog link on the Plough Library home page. The online
catalog will tell you whether or not Plough Library owns an
item, where it is located in the library, and whether or not
the item is on the shelves. Ask at the Research Assistance
Desk for help using the Library catalog. You may also want
to set up a session for your students. [See Class
Instruction.]
Due Dates
and Policies
All faculty with valid ID cards are eligible to borrow material
from the plough library. To check out material from the library,
just bring your library card and material to the main circulation
desk. Books checked out by faculty any time during the semester
are due that the end of the semester. Videos checked out by
faculty are due after three days. For more information regarding
faculty borrowing privileges, see Plough
Library Policies.
Books
Plough Library's circulating books are shelved on the third
floor of the library. Our Library uses the Dewey
Decimal Classification System.
Periodicals
The Library subscribes to over 400 print newspapers, magazines,
and journal titles. Back issues (usually older than one year)
are shelved on the lower floor of Plough Library, alphabetically
by title. Current issues are located on the main floor of
the library, next to the Reserve/Audio-Visual room. They are
also shelved alphabetically by title. Periodicals cannot be
checked out.
To see if CBU subscribes to a particular title in print, check
the online catalog. To see
if CBU has access to a particular periodical title in one
of our databases, check the Full-Text
Electronic Journal List.
Audio-Visual
Materials
All non-print media materials, such as videos, CD's, and CD-ROM's
are located in the Audiovisual Room, on the lower level next
to the Writing Center. To search for an audio-visual item,
check the online catalog.
