In keeping with the missions of the university and
Plough Library, the Library Instruction Program at
Christian Brothers University will promote information
literacy by providing instruction for students, faculty
and staff. The instruction is designed to teach students
the skills they will need to become effective participants
in the modern world of information, and to develop
skills and concepts necessary to continue education
beyond CBU. Instruction and services for faculty will
provide support to faculty in promoting information
literacy within the disciplines.
Goals
We will: (1) prepare CBU students for effective use
of information sources while at CBU; (2) encourage
CBU students to make effective life-long use of information
resources; (3) collaborate with and support CBU faculty
in providing students with the skills necessary to
succeed in completing their coursework; (4) facilitate
the campus community's productivity by promoting good
information resources and their useage.
