Book Checkout Policy

Access:

  • Users must present a valid CBU ID card or special user card to check out materials.
  • CBU has reciprocal circulation privilege policies with:

    In Memphis Outside Memphis
    Crichton College Bethel College
    LeMoyne-Owen College Dyersburg State Community College
    Memphis College of Art Freed-Hardeman University
    Memphis Theological Seminary Jackson State Community College
    Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary Lambuth University
    Rhodes College Lane College
    Southwest TN Community College Union University
    University of Memphis University of Tennessee at Martin

  • Lending periods:

    • Undergraduate students and special users: 28 days
    • CBU faculty, staff, and graduate students: end-of-semester
    • All books in the New Books section of the library circulate for 14 days, regardless of patron status.

  • Students may check out a maximum of 20 books.
  • Books may be renewed twice, except for New Books which may be renewed once.
  • CBU students, faculty, and staff may also check out videos, DVDs, and CDs. See the Media Checkout Policy for details.

Responsibility:

  • Overdue fines are 10 cents per day per book.
  • Fines for lost books are $50.00 per book. There is also a $15.00 processing fee for lost books. Plough Library retains ownership of all lost items.
  • Transcripts and diplomas are held for library obligations.
