Media Checkout
Policy
Access:
- Videos, DVDs, and CDs are only available for use by
CBU students, faculty and staff.
- Users must present a valid CBU ID card.
- Videos, DVDs, and audio CDs circulate for 3 days.
- Only two
3-day circulating titles (videos, DVDs, and audio CDs)
may be checked out at a time.
Reserve Media:
- Faculty can put a video, DVD or CD on reserve under
his or her name, if a faculty member wants students
to view the media in the library or made available for
restricted check out. Faculty may place reserve requests
by emailing Melissa Verble at mverble@cbu.edu,
by calling her at 321-3431, or by filling out the Course
Reserves Request Form.
- Only CBU media or personal copies
of media may be placed on reserve - videos, DVDs, and CDs owned by other institutions may not be placed on reserve.
- Faculty determine whether the media can leave the library and the length of checkout time,
if applicable.
Reservations:
- Faculty may place a hold on media they will use in
the classroom. Faculty should email Melissa Verble at
mverble@cbu.edu
or call her at 321-3431 to place videos, DVDs, and CDs
on hold, at least 3 days before the date needed. The
library cannot guarantee these items will be available
without sufficient notice. NOTE: The library will check
out the video(s), DVDs, and CDs to the faculty member's
account. It is the professor's responsibility to return
these items to the library in a timely manner.
- Students, faculty and staff may reserve the TV/VCR/DVD
viewing room on the library's lower level by calling
Melissa Verble at 321-3431.
Responsibility:
- Overdue fines are $1.00 per day with a maximum
of $25.00 per item.
- Lost items will incur further fines and processing
fees. See librarian for details. Plough Library retains
ownership of all lost items.
- Transcripts and diplomas are held for library obligations.
- Plough Library and Christian Brothers University hereby
advise that the user agrees to and assumes all responsibility
for any and all damages that may occur as a result of
the use of any library resources, either foreseeable
or unforeseeable by either party.
