Intute: Engineering E-journals Search Engine
Formerly hosted by EEVL. Search the content of over 250 freely available full-text engineering, mathematics and computing ejournals, selected for relevance and quality. Academic journals, trade publications and society journals are covered. All sites are also listed in the Intute: Science, Engineering and Technology catalogue of Internet resources.

WEBSITES

Many of these descriptions provided by the Edinburgh Engineering Virtual Library
  • American Chemical Society Publications Division
Provides information about ACS publications, with links to individual publications and web editions of journals, where article abstracts and the possibility to purchase articles is offered. Cross-journal search feature is available on all ACS web edition home pages. Some full-text articles are available. Other features include CHEMCYCLOPEDIA, the Library Letter, and the LabGuide Online.
  • American Institute of Chemical Engineers
Includes information on the institute and how it operates, and details of membership. Newsroom has news related to government, industry, the institute and members. Provides links to related sites. CEPmagazine, the institute's newsletter, provides technical and professional information and is archived from 1987. Job Vacancies are listed.
  • ChemAlliance
Includes feature articles about effective regulatory compliance and environmental management strategies for the process industries; a regulatory and compliance reference handbook; self assessment tools for compliance, risk management, environmental management systems, and pollution prevention; a contacts database of experts on regulatory and pollution prevention topics; a glossary of environmental and regulatory terms; and links to relevant sites.
  • Chemfinder
Produced by CambridgeSoft Corporation, Chemfinder is a free, searchable chemical database allowing searches by common or trivial chemical name, chemical formula, molecular weight, or CAS registry number. Structural searches are possible using a Simplified Molecular Input Line Entry System (SMILES) in which 2- and 3-dimensional chemical structures are represented in linear textual format. Provides information including chemical structure, melting, boiling and flash point, specific gravity, vapor density, water solubility, RTECS, DOT, and CAS number.
  • Chemdex
Directory of chemistry on the world-wide web, based at the University of Sheffield Department of Chemistry. Site has the following top level categories: chemistry; communication; companies; government sites; learned societies; miscellaneous; molecules; people; portals, link sites; the elements; the periodic table; university departments (UK and USA subsections); and www and standards.
  • Chemical and Engineering News
Electronic version of American Chemical Society (ACS) subscription journal. Provides weekly table of contents of latest issue with full text of selected feature articles, special reports on particular technologies and product reports. Archived Tables of Contents are available back to mid-1998. What's That Stuff section contains articles about active compounds and their actions in particular products (such as aircraft de-icers, lipsticks, chocolate, etc). Includes indexes of the Chemical Safety Letters since 1993 with links to full text.
  • Chemistry.org from the American Chemical Society (ACS)
Provides information and links for ACS members and others involved in chemistry or chemical technology. Sections link to information on membership, conferences, education and document delivery systems.
  • ChemConnect
Offers a chemical supplies directory and chemical exchange service for the chemicals industry. Searchable product, company, and services directories are available and provide contact details for many worldwide chemical suppliers. Includes a free magazine, Chemical Web Marketing & Technology, which aims to assist chemical companies in understanding the marketing opportunities available on the internet, along with a list of chemistry journals online.
  • eFunda Engineering Fundamentals
Its mission is to create an online destination for the engineering community, where working professionals can quickly find concise and reliable information to meet the majority of their daily reference needs.
  • Science.gov - Chemical Engineering
Government science organizations select their best science information for science.gov. Includes selected authoritative science Web sites and often hard-to-access scientific databases (specific content varies by database).
