Master of International Business
Degree Program Format
The MIB program is a partnership involving you, your family, your organization, your classmates, and Christian Brothers University. Graduates will earn a Master of International Business from CBU as well as a Master of International Business from Ramon Llull University in Barcelona, Spain which is a member of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACBS) International. This 12-month program, offered in executive format, is geared towards professionals with prior master’s education such as MBA, MS in Accounting, etc. who want to give their knowledge a more global perspective.
The program is structured around cohort groups of 20-25 students who begin and complete the 12-month program together in a cohesive group. MIB cohorts start once per year, in June. The 31-hour MIB curriculum consists of three modules taken in sequential order. The curriculum is designed so you focus on one subject area at a time, allowing for more in-depth learning, concentration and application of each discipline.
Module One will be delivered in an alternating Saturday executive format, where students are engaged in case studies, seminars, projects and presentations from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on our campus. Courses covered are:
- CMIB 600. Orientation to the Global Business Environment (2 credits)
- CMIB 610. International Culture and Research (3 credits)
- CMIB 620. Internationalization Process and Global Marketing (3 credits)
- CMIB 630. International Economics and Finance (3 credits)
Module Two will be delivered in a hybrid format, meaning students will be required to attend group work/study sessions for half of the course, and will conference online with Faculty at La Salle Campus Barcelona and La Salle Open University UOLS for the other half of the course.
- CMIB 640. Investment Readiness Module (15 credits)
Module Three is an international immersion in Barcelona, Spain where students will spend ten classroom days learning about Europe from a socio-economic perspective, cross-cultural negotiations, ethics, governance, quality and other topics from a multi-national perspective from the faculty of Ramon Llull University. Site visits and tours will be conducted with businesses that have operations both in Spain and in the U.S.
