Memphis–On December 4th, Sheryl Wilson was awarded the annual Project Management Institute (PMI) scholarship to continue her graduate studies at Christian Brothers University (CBU). The Memphis Chapter of the PMI established this annual scholarship of $2,000 to be given to a CBU student enrolled in the Project Management Certificate Program. Wilson who is employed at Medtronic has been able to put into practice at her workplace the knowledge and skills learned during these courses at CBU.
Wilson has 20 years of experience in sales, project management, telecommunications and business ownership. “I am honored and grateful to be the recipient of this award. I am looking forward to completing the certificate program, improving my value to Medtronic, and becoming a member of the Memphis Chapter of the Project Management Institute,” said Wilson at the awards ceremony.
Dr. Frank Marion, Project Management Professional and chair of Marketing, Management and Economics at CBU stated “The global demand for trained project managers is exploding, and these management skills and project knowledge are gender neutral. We have been offering Project Management in our MBA program for several years, and it is one of our most popular courses.”
CBU offers a Graduate Certificate in Project Management consisting of three courses designed for both newcomers who want to gain knowledge and understanding of project management or for project management professionals who want to enhance their skills in this area.
