Memphis – Christian Brothers University (CBU) will host an engineering workshop for high school students that will guide them through an introduction to forensics. This workshop will be held Tuesday, February 10 from 3:30 to 5:45 p.m. in Assisi Hall, Room 153. Students will engage in the process that studies accidents, fires and structural failures to reveal the causes of the event and prevent its reoccurrence.
With the help of CBU engineering faculty, students will learn how to reconstruct a car accident from skid marks and vehicle appearance. They will discover the measures that forensic specialists must go to investigate fires and explosions. In addition, participants will use ballistic information to match a bullet to the rifle or pistol from which it was shot.
This workshop is free and open to all students in grades 9-12. Seating is limited, so advance registration is required.
