New Graduate Education Courses Offered Throughout Tennessee

Christian Brothers University and Performance Learning Systems, Inc. ® have partnered to provide Tennessee educators unique training options.

Christian Brothers University’s (CBU) Department of Education and Performance Learning Systems, Inc. (PLS) announced today that new graduate courses for educators will be offered beginning in the Spring 2009. This collaboration provides a variety of research-based graduate courses for Tennessee educators.

Studies show that teacher quality is the most important factor in K-12 achievement. CBU’s Education department has again proven its commitment to producing quality teachers by partnering with PLS, a leader in course design and facilitation.

Talana Vogel, Chair of the Education department, states, “The partnership between CBU and PLS is a wonderful opportunity for two organizations with a rich history of serving teachers to meet the professional development needs of the teachers across Tennessee.  This partnership ensures that all teachers will have access to quality graduate courses at extremely reasonable rates.”

The mission shared by both CBU and PLS is to provide challenging educational opportunities for teachers through graduate courses, consulting services, and quality instructional materials.

“For 40 years, PLS has sought to enhance the quality of K-12 education by improving teacher effectiveness with high-quality graduate courses offered through the best academic partners. With the expanded reach into Tennessee, where education is of paramount importance, CBU provides PLS with a new avenue for achieving this shared goal,” said Neil Rose, CEO of Performance Learning Systems.

CBU’s education programs are designed to meet both state and national standards and PLS will be supporting these requirements by offering engaging, research-based graduate courses for K-12 educators across the state. Learn more at
