Crone retains her duties as the Department’s Senior Woman Administrator, but is resigning as CBU’s head softball coach after serving in the position for 10 years.
“Even though I will miss coaching, I am looking forward to the new challenges of this position and greatly appreciate the opportunity CBU and the NCAA have given me,” Crone said.
As Compliance Coordinator, Crone will be responsible for all NCAA compliance issues.
“We think Donna will be able to serve our student-athletes well in this new role,” Nadicksbernd said. “We’ve wanted this to happen for a long time, so we’re thankful for the NCAA grant program making it possible.”
The new position was enabled by a matching grant from the NCAA Division II Strategic Alliance Matching Grant Enhancement Program, which is designed to encourage diversity and inclusion within the athletic administrative staffs of Division II schools. CBU was one of nine schools to win the grant out of 29 schools who applied in the program in 2009.
“I’m extremely happy to receive this NCAA grant that has made it possible to put Donna into this new position,” Nadicksbernd said. “The NCAA requires a large amount of record keeping and Donna is perfect for the position. She will be an invaluable asset to the entire Athletics department.”
The search for a new softball coach will begin immediately. ###
