Tau Kappa Epsilon and Zeta Tau Alpha, two of Christian Brothers University’s (CBU) Greek organizations, hosted the 2010 Annual Nite of Life finale event to support the Dream Factory of Memphis, a non-profit organization that helps make the dreams of critically ill children come true.
Along with raising funds through smaller fundraisers, the brothers of Tau Kappa Epsilon and sisters of Zeta Tau Alpha spent 48 straight hours taking turns on a teeter-totter placed in the middle of the Buckman Quadrangle. Each individual signed up to spend a set amount of time on or near the teeter-totter. Family, friends and other contacts pledged donations for each hour spent on the teeter-totter. Through these fundraisers, the two Greek organizations were able to raise $7,500 for the Dream Factory.
During the Nite of Life finale event on April 24, Tau Kappa Epsilon and Zeta Tau Alpha presented the check to the Dream Factory and granted a dream to one of the participants. The Dream Factory of Memphis grants dreams to children between the ages of 3 and 18 who have been diagnosed with critical or chronic illnesses. The organization is a 100% volunteer organization, using the donations from the community to make the dreams of these critically ill children come true.
