Memphis—The Communications & Marketing department at Christian Brothers University (CBU) walked away with a Gold and Silver Communication Award at the 2011 Tennessee College Public Relations Association (TCPRA) Spring Conference Awards held May 20.
CBU was awarded the Gold in the Special Publication category for the CMBA Brochure and Silver in the Banner/Outdoor Media category for its Graduate & Professional Studies’ “Distinguish Yourself” billboard and transit series.
“This year had a record number of entries from across the state and was highly competitive,” notes Elisa Marus, Executive Director for Communications & Marketing. “We are honored to be among the winners and to have our work recognized by experts in the industry as some of the best in the state, but more importantly to be recognized as a leader in our field of higher education.”
The entries are independently judged by professionals from outside advertising, marketing, or public relations professionals. Each entry submitted was evaluated against other entries in that category. Judging is based on overall creativity of the piece, marketing execution and impact of message.
Formed in 1975, the TCPRA is an alliance of communicators who represent many of Tennessee’s public and private colleges and universities, two-year technical schools, technology centers and community colleges and work to define higher education in the state.
