Open Auditions for CBU Production of “Love Letters”

The CBU Office of Advancement and the Visual and Performing Arts Department will hold open auditions for A.R. Gurney’s Love Letters on January 27 at 7:00 p.m. in Kenrick 200.

Auditions are open to everyone, but CBU alumni who fell in love during their time on campus are especially encouraged to audition. Experience is not necessary and no memorization is required as actors will be reading from the script.

There are roles for six males and six females. There will be three rehearsals on February 11, 12, and 13 culminating with a single special Valentine’s reading (with dinner) on February 14 in Sabbatini Lounge.

Love Letters is the story of Andrew Ladd III  and Melissa Gardner’s complex relationship as told through the reading of a lifetime of correspondence between the two — from childhood birthday invitations and thank you notes to pledges of adolescent infatuation, through the trials and tribulations of marriage, professional aspirations, parenthood, addiction, and ultimately to their love affair.

To schedule an audition appointment, please contact the director, Matthew Hamner, at or (901) 321-3026.
