A. Heath Abshure (Marketing ’95) was recently promoted to president of the North American Securities Administrators Association.

Louis F. Allen Jr. (MBA ’95) has been appointed as one of CBU’s newest Board of Trustee members. Mr. Allen is the executive vice president and manager of commercial banking at First Tennessee Bank.

Jacob Bazeley (Business Administration ’05), professional poker player, captured second place in Event 2 of the World Series of Poker, a $1,500 no-limit hold’em tournament. Jacob, who has 31 career cashes (eight at the WSOP), started playing poker in college while on the basketball team at CBU.

The October 28th edition of the Commercial Appeal pictured CBU alumnus, Cary Crain (Business Administration ’12). The picture included Carla Swindoll of First Alliance Bank who received the top online fundraiser award for the Cotton Picking 5k benefitting Fayette Cares. Crain is also from Alliance Bank. Tracie Duckett-Stephens (Business Administration ’04) began working as MEDDAC’s patient advocate at Guthrie Clinic in July. As a nine-year U.S. Navy veteran and now Army Family Member, she understands the military culture very well. Her mission and commitment is to ensure that MEDDAC is doing their best for the Soldiers and their Families!

Brian Fitzgerald (Business Administration ’03) is now working for General Electric Energy as their Field Accountant.

Larkin (Civil/Environmental Engineering ’99) and James Myers (Business Administration ’06) welcomed Roxanne Leigh Myers on June 8, 2012. Congratulations to the happy couple!

Cathy Ross (Accounting ’78) was included in Black Enterprise’s “100 Most Powerful Executives in Corporate America,” as reported in the October 5th edition of the Commercial Appeal. Ms. Ross is the CFO of FedEx. The article is available online:
