WINTER 2013 FACULTY ACTIVITIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS

Dr. Dan Brandon (MIS/Cybersecurity & Digital Forensics) attended annual Bank Tech Summit Conference in October at the Memphis Hilton which concerns IT and Cyber Security in the banking industry.

Christina Brown’s (Staff, School of Business) submissions, Magic of the Season and Shining Brightly, were selected by the Phoenix Club for their 2012 Holiday Card Drive, the organization’s largest yearly fundraiser, with all sale proceeds being donated to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis.

Dr. Robert Brittingham (Management/Economics), along with Justin Joy (Chairman of the Republican Party of Shelby County), represented the Republicans at CBU’s Presidential Debate on October 23.

Dr. Linda F. Christensen (Accounting) joined the School of Business this fall and is teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate level.

Dr. Jack Hargett (Dean) participated in the 24th annual Brother Mark Sullivan Golf Tournament held on October 29 at TPC Southwind. Proceeds from the tournament benefited the CBU Buccaneer Athletic Scholarship Fund.

morgret2Andrew Morgret (Accounting) was a Eucharistic Lector at the International Conference on Catholic Social Thought and Management Education held at the University of Dayton in June.  The theme of the conference was “Renewing Mission and Identity in Catholic Business Education.”  He is pictured with Cardinal Peter Turkson, President of the Pontifical Council for Peace and Justice, who was the key note speaker at the Conference. Morgret also assisted with the Overton Park Junior Golf Tournament by being a Hole Monitor.

Patricia Papachristou (Economics) chaired a round table discussion at annual convention of the Missouri Valley Economic Association in Memphis on October 25.

Dr. Bevalee Vitali (Management) recently published a book review of Behavioral Business Ethics: Shaping An Emerging Field with Choice Reviews. Vitali also developed and delivered a four-week program called “Finding Your Fit” at Hope Presbyterian Church.  She also created and delivered a two-part series on choosing a major and career to high school seniors in the Memphis Challenge program.
