Contest
Rules
- This contest
is open to all members of the CBU community. The CBU community
consists of faculty, staff, students, and alumni.
- Only one
picture per entrant may be chosen as a winner. Up to five entries
per entrant may be submitted.
- Entries
will be judged on the quality and composition of the photo, as
well as the originality/creativity that best exemplifies CBU and
its community. The decision of the judges is final.
- Judges
of the CBU Photo Contest are ineligible to enter/win.
- All entries
become property of CBU. Entries will not be returned. By submitting
the photo, the entrant is granting CBU the permission to display,
store, and vary the use of the image, as well as credit the entrant
as photographer. All contestants acknowledge, as a condition of
entry, that CBU has a right to publicize, or broadcast the winner’s
name, character, likeness, voice or all matters incidental herein
for purposes of credit and/or editorial purposes. CBU reserves
the right to edit submitted photos as needed for publication.
- Entries
must be uploaded by 11:59 p.m., CST, NOVEMBER 4, 2005 via the submission
form on the CBU website.
- Winners
will be selected approximately 10 days after the entry deadline,
then notified by email and posted on the website. The grand prize
winner will receive $100 cash, second prize winner will receive
$75 cash, and the third prize winner will receive $50 cash. Three
runners-up will receive gifts to be chosen by CBU (estimated retail
value $10).
- Winners
will have 30 days after they have been notified that they have
won to pick up their prize. If the prize remains unclaimed, CBU
reserves the right to grant the award to the next eligible winner.
- Prizes
must be claimed in person, unless otherwise specified. Proper
identification (valid driver’s license, CBU ID) required.
- In certain
“unique situations”, a designated representative will
be allowed to accept prize for the winner. Written authorization
from the winner including representative’s name, ID, and
a photocopy of the winner’s CBU ID would be required. CBU
will qualify what constitutes a “unique situation.”
- Additions
or deletions to these rules may be made at the discretion of CBU,
and may be enacted at any time.
- All winners
must be 18 years of age or older.
- All entries
must be taken by the party submitting the photos and must be free
of claims and rights of third parties/individuals.
- CBU absolves
itself of any liability, financial or otherwise, resulting from
any actions taken by faculty, staff, students, or alumni as a
result of this contest.
- In the
event that a winner chooses not to accept a prize, he or she forfeits
all claim to that prize. CBU then has the right, at its discretion,
to award that prize to a contest runner-up.
- Basic contest
rules and addenda are available for review during regular business
hours at the CBU ITS Help Desk, 650 E. Parkway South, Memphis,
TN 38104.
- Obscene,
provocative, or otherwise prurient content will not be considered.
Photographs containing nudity will not be considered. Nudity is
defined as the torso being completely or partially unclothed below
the waist for all models and above the waist for female models.
CBU retains sole discretion as to what constitutes unsuitable
content.
- CBU reserves
the right to reject any contest entries that do not otherwise meet
the guidelines of the CBU Photo Contest.
- CBU assumes
no responsibilities for entries that are not submitted or are
unable to process due to phone, network, electronic, or computer
hardware or software failures, or technical failures of any kind.
Subject to all U.S. federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
