    Biology Research Substitution of Independent Research (BIOL 461, 462: 2 cr.) for Mentored Research (BIOL 463, 464, 465: 5 cr.) requires permission of the Chair or course director.  Students who take Independent Research will have to make up 3 credits in Biology in order to complete the 122 hours required minimum.

    Group III (evolutionary biology and ecology): BIOL 246 Evolution; BIOL 381 Animal Behavior; BIOL 412 Ecology.
    Group IV (cell and molecular biology): BIOL 321 Microbiology; 367 Pharmacology; 415 Immunology; 421 Cell Biology.

    • A minimum of 30 hours of biology electives including at least 20 hours at or above the 300 level must be selected including at least one course from each of the four groups listed above. 
    • A minimum GPA of 2.0 in biology courses (required biology courses plus biology electives) is required for graduation.
