Join a Haiti Medical Mission Trip
Join a Medical Trip to Haiti to provide health care to patients at the Clinic (Clinique Sainte d’Esprit located on grounds of St. Charles Seminary in Croix des Bouquets, near Port au Prince) Medical professionals, including physicians, dentists, nurses, pharmaceutical representatives and other medical and health care support staff are needed. Team members may also support the students and staff of L’Ouverture Cleary School. 24-Hour Tour d’Esprit Race Fundraiser
*Ninth Annual “24-Hour Tour d’Esprit” Fundraiser* To be held 28-29 September 2007 in Memphis, TN Modified from the 2003 Press Release by Denise McMahon The Ninth Annual *“24-Hour Tour d’Esprit”* will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, 28 Sept. through 3:00 p.m. Saturday, 29 Sept. 2007 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 2300 Hickory Crest Drive, Memphis, TN. The event is the Mid-South’s only 24-hour long foot race, with all proceeds benefiting Haiti Medical Missions of Memphis. All proceeds from the event will go towards providing critical, life-saving medicines and medical attention at HMM's community health clinic in Croix des Bouquets, Haiti. Individuals and teams may run or walk as much as they wish during the 24-hour period. Those on teams will pass the team’s timing chip to the next participant when their “shift" is complete. For both individuals and teams, the number of loops completed on the certified 1-mile course is automatically tallied throughout the 24 hours. All entrants will receive a race goody bag and commemorative t-shirt, and will be eligible for many door prizes. Other planned on-site activities include a Haitian Artwork silent auction featuring handcrafted Haitian art, a Pasta Dinner on Friday evening (5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.), a designated camping area for families and teams, a Pancake Breakfast on Saturday morning (7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.), and a Health Fair on Saturday morning (7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.). The event will culminate with a Race Wrap-Up Party on Saturday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Door prizes and awards will be presented to the top individuals in their age group, as well as to the top male, female and mixed team. Grilled hamburgers, hotdogs, and cold drinks will be available. For the past 2 years, HMM has coordinated sending a 40 ft. Sea Container to Haiti Our cost to ship each container is $4,500 For example, in May 2003, we shipped another 40 ft. Sea Container directly to our clinic with donated protein nuggets, powdered milk, medical equipment and supplies. This cookbook is more than just a cookbook! It's a 264-page, hardbound reflection of the flavor and spirit of a people.
