ORGANIC CHEMISTRY II

Catalog Data This is the second in a two semester sequence covering the fundamentals of organic chemistry, with an increasing emphasis and a continuing emphasis on reaction mechanisms. Offered in the spring semester. One semester; three credits.
Prerequisite: CHEM 211 and CHEM 211L.
Corequisite: CHEM 212L.

Goals The course is designed to prepare the student for chemistry courses which rely on Organic chemistry strengthen the student's understanding of organic reaction mechanisms, instill the knowledge of retrosynthetic analysis, and extend the understanding of the relationship between structure and reactivity.
