Ready to make a difference at CBU?
We're here to help.
Starting a club at CBU couldn't be easier, and to help, we have this guide that will help you through the process, step-by-step. When you're ready, look below and let's get started!
Take a look at our registered student organizations, and see if there's a place where your interests are already represented on campus. With over 50 registered student organizations, there's a good chance that we have something you'd love. You can see that list by clicking the header to the left, or by clicking here.
Haven't found what you're looking for? Now's the time to talk with your fellow students and see who else is interested in the same things that you are. With our diverse student body, there's always going to be others who love the same things you do.
Download the New Club Recognition Form. This form contains everything you'll need to start a new organization on campus. You'll need to finish the following inside the form before you can move to the next step:
- Find a Faculty/Staff adviser. You can use any Faculty or Staff member you would like, and you'd be surprised at who is willing to help if you just ask!
- Develop a working constitution and bylaws. You can find a sample that you may adapt for your club by clicking here.
- Collect 50 signatures from students who are willing to lend their support for your club or organization being present on campus. The SGA Senate will use this as evidence that there is student approval for your group.
After you've completed your New Club Recognition form, you'll need to submit your documents to the Student Life Office. Once there, the SGA Senate will make sure everything is in order and hold a vote. If successful, you've officially formed your group! If there are any changes to be made to your documents, the Senate will contact you and help guide you to a successful organization founding.
And that's it!
