Project 3

Well, now that you have taught the alien off-spring how to add, subtract, multiply and divide, you want to go deeper into the idea of division, what it means and why it is important. You decide to give them a puzzle to solve, one that will pique their interest in division, while making them think. Of course, before you can give them the puzzle you must solve it yourself so that you can explain the problem to them. Here is the problem:
Find the least positive integer having as a remainder the number 2, 3 and 4 when divided by the number 5, 7 and 9, respectively, and, once this is accomplished, find the next larger integer for which this property is true.
Find these two numbers and write them in prime-factor form.
