  3. Find the area of a rectangle that is 5 feet wide and 10 feet long.
  4. Find the area of a regular hexagon with a side length of 3 feet.
  5. Be able to find the area of figures like those on page 705 of the (new) book. (If you have the old one, you'll have to look at a friends book or go to the library, these figures are not in the old book as best I can tell.)
  6. Find the perimeter of each of the figures in the previous three problems.
  7. Suppose a circle is inscribed in a square. What percentage of the area of the square is contained inside the circle?

  10. What height (approximately) can be reached with a 27 foot ladder?
  11. A water lily is floating in a murky pond rooted on the bottom of the pond by a stem of unknown length. The lily can be lifted 2 feet over the water and moved 6 feet to the side. What is the depth of the pond?
  12. Find the volume of the figures on page 736 and 737 (in the old book page 821 has some of these figures).
  13. In Gulliver's Travels, Dr. Lemuel Gulliver encounters the tiny Lilliputians. A Lilliputian is similar to Gulliver but is 6 inches tall compared to Gulliver's 6 feet.
    1. Explain why the Lilliputians ordered 1728 ration's for Gulliver's dinner.
    2. If the material from Gulliver's shirt was cut up to make shirts for the Lilliputians, how many shirts could be made?

I should point out that this sheet has NO problems from chapter twelve. This is because that chapter is very dependent upon pictures and I did not have the time to draw pictures for this review sheet. In order to review for chapter twelve, I highly recommend working the homework assigned for that chapter as well as working the review problems at the end of the chapter.
