| INFORMATION ABOUT THE TOLEDO CHEMISTRY PLACEMENT EXAM
The purpose of the placement exam is to make sure that your background in chemistry and math is adequate for you to succeed in Principles of Chemistry. The one-hour test consists of 60 questions:
You need to get 15/20 on the algebra section, and 37/60 overall. If you do, you're qualified to take Chemistry 113 and 113L. If not, you'll need to take Chemistry 101 (Introduction to College Chemistry) first. Chem 101 is offered during the second summer term (July) and during the fall semester. If you want to study, just use your high-school chemistry book (or any such text) -- the test is at that level. It is advantageous to bring a simple calculator and several sharp pencils with erasers. If you have further questions, please let me know.
