Further studies concerning Hsp and methallonein protein in both the gills and hepatic pancreas will be conducted. GST Activity will also be studied in the hepatic pancreas, since cadmium accumulates mainly in the kidneys and liver. While Hsp will be able to give a rough estimate of exposure. methallonein will offer the most accurate result. Furthermore, future studies perhaps could have longer cadmium exposures because cadmium has a long accumulation period within cells.
