Take Placement Test

Make sure to:

     1. Do not open your PAN (Personal Academic Notebook) until you are sure that you will remain in this course.

     2.  Check your home computer (if available) to see that you can access the course at home

     3.  Take the Tour (if we do not finish it in class).

     4.  Read the syllabus and get the materials required.  If you have questions on it

               ask in class Thursday or give Br. Joel (me) a call at 321-3442.

     5.  Take the seat you want to keep for the rest of the semester when you come to class Thursday.

     6.  Be ready to start Lesson EIIC in class on Thursday.

     7.  Bring headphones (from a Walkman, iPod, M3P player, CD player, etc.)

     8.  If you have not taken the Placement Test be sure to do so ASAP since Friday is the

               last day to change classes.  (You want to move up if you can!)

Test next Thursday 9/13 on Lessons EII.C, 3.1 and 4.1  Be sure to have done all your computer lessons up to there by then.

Test Thursday on EII.C, 3.1 & 4.1 inclusive.  You can find a copy of a previous Test #1 on my Website and REVIEWS on pp. 63,66; 157-60,168-9 & 192-3.199-200  You should have completed Lessons EII.C, 3.1 & 4.1 by class Thursday in preparation for the test.

278/6,16 not due until Tuesday.  If you have questions on either problem ask them in class Thursday.  Be sure to put down ALL 8 steps on the paper I passed out!  Work on your test corrections.

You have until 2:00 PM, 9/26-W to make corrections on your test, staple them to your current test and bring them to me in my office to improve your grade

NOTE:  A.S. on your test stands for “ See Answer Sheet” and R.D. stands for read directions!  If you haven’t read the syllabus yet (see first homework assignment  above) do so now!

Validation codes will be coming due over the weekend. Textbooks are in (as of last Monday).

If in class your computer says that you can’t get to Internet Explorer, do the following:

     1. Click “Start” at the bottom left of your screen.

     2. Click “ok” when the screen asks for “restart.”

     3. When the computer reboots and “student” appears, press “ENTER.”

          (You DON’T need a password.)

     4.  You should then be able to get to PLATO.

 I have been able to check your on-line homework and have recorded those from EII.C, 3.1 & 4.1.  If you update any of these on-line homeworks you will have to print out your new score for me from the computer.

 Homework Submission Procedure

 

Daily Homework Procedures Short Form:

 

1.  Use lineless 8.5" by  11" paper.

2.  Show all necessary work providing clear, yet concise explanations.

3.  Use a straightedge to draw straight lines.  Quadrille paper is required for graphs; label axes and the scale marks and 
     points as is appropriate.

4.  Staple all work together;  paper clips and dog-earing are not acceptable.

5.  Place your first and last name, course and section, date assigned and section /problem numbers  in the upper right-hand 
     corner.
