April 17, 2008 I became aware that the Sweethearts of the Rodeo now have an Official MySpace page. The page was started on 1/4/2008. They have two concerts scheduled in the Nashville, TN area.

April 20, 2003 An article about Janis was published in The Tennessean. Janis is taking engineering classes so that she can become a producer. She is also writing an autobiography and a book of prose. Janis plans to team up with Kristine again for an album to be recorded by the early winter. After that they will look for a label and hope to tour to promote the album next spring.
April 18, 2003 An online poll is being conducted by www.vote.mosiqa.com and Janis is in the top 20.
May 21, 2002 Janis has put up a temporary website. Her solo project is progressing well. She is scheduled to record three more songs this week and she continues to write more material. She had a sking accident in January in Taos, NM injuring her ACL. Surgery and physical therapy have corrected the problem but she isn't quite ready for riding her horses yet.

November 18, 2000 Janis has changed her name to Janis Oliver Cummins.
October 2, 2000 Added a link to a story about Janis Gill and her love for horses on the links page.
September 26, 2000 Janis is planning be to married to Roy Cummins on October 30, 2000 in Hawaii. The annual concert at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville is scheduled for November 24, 2000. Janis plans to get back to work on the new CD very soon after Gill & Arnold closes its doors for the last time on September 30, 2000.
August 10, 2000 The Sweethearts are planning to close their store "Gill & Arnold" in Franklin, TN as of October 1, 2000. Check out the story in the Tennessean through a link in the media section.
July 20, 2000 Cassasong has started a new Yahoo club about the Sweethearts of the Rodeo. This is a link to the club and I have also placed a link in the links section.
July 9, 2000 Janis says that the new CD is half done and that she is planning in August to schedule more studio time for recording the other half sometime in the fall.
April 4, 2000 A new CD has been released by Rennaisance Records from the Sweethearts called "Anthology". This recording does not contain any new material but rather a collection of twenty of the favorites through the years. The recording is available at www.cdnow.com. The Sweethearts are still working on a new album but the project has stalled while the Sweethearts search for or write material for the album.

January 16, 2000 Added six new pictures supplied by Rhonda from the show at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville on November 26,1999.
December 5, 1999 The on-line store www.cdwarehouse.com stocks all the recordings of the Sweethearts. The recordings may be used but they are priced at around $8.99 each.
December 5,1999 The release date of the new CD is scheduled for April of 2000 and the Sweethearts plan to tour to support the new recording starting in mid-May to June of 2000.
November 9, 1999 The Sweethearts are planning to go back to the studio in January of 2000 to begin recording their next album. Plans are still going ahead on Janis' solo album but it looks now like the Sweethearts album will get started before Janis finishes the solo album. Janis is also busy showing her horses. She has two horse farms.
June 19, 1999 Plans for another album have been delayed so that Janis can do a solo project. After the solo project, the Sweethearts plan to do another album together. Unfortunately, there is no timetable for either project.
June 19, 1999 Kristine is busy managing the store these days while Janis is busy breeding, selling and showing horses. She is showing the horses in the style of "Western Pleasure".

December 12, 1998 Reorganized the Bluebird pictures from 1996 in the gallery to use thumbnail pictures. Created a new page for the Bluebird for 1998 and added 19 more pictures from the concert by the Sweethearts at the Bluebird on November 27,1998.

October 19, 1998 I have received word that the fan club has ceased to exist. This was announced in the final Sweetheart Gazette to fan club members.
October 4, 1998 A new mailing list has been started for the Sweethearts so that people who are not AOL members can discuss the Sweethearts. The release date of the new album will most likely not be this Fall. A new link has been added to the links page pointing to a page maintained by Ron Newcomer about country music stars he has met and photographed. Of course he has met and photographed the Sweethearts.
