Mass and Weight
Our weight on earth depends on the gravitational attraction of the earth for our mass. The more mass we have, the more weight we have. One kilogram of mass has a weight on the earth of 2.2 lbs.
In outer space, far away from the earth, any object will have essentially zero weight, but it will still have its mass. We can tell how much mass it has by how much force it takes to change its motion.
