Discrete Case - an example
For acceleration we do the same thing:
Since we know the approximate velocity at 0.25 sec and 0.75 sec, we can find an approx. average acceleration in this interval:
ax-avg (between 0.25 and 0.75 sec) =
(+10 m/s - +6 m/s) / (.75 sec - .25 sec) = +8 m/s2.
Since this is the acceleration between .25 and .75 seconds, we can say that this probably is close to the acceleration at 0.5 seconds.
