Example of Statics

• From Newton’s Second Law for the x components we have then:

S Fx = - Tleft cos(30o) + Tright cos(55o) + 0 = 0

or simplifying:

Tleft cos(30o) = Tright cos(55o) .

• This is one equation in two unknowns (Tleft and Tright), so we also need to consider the y component equation.
