Example of Statics

• From Newton’s Second Law for the y components we have then:

S Fy = + Tleft sin(30o) + Tright sin(55o) - 100 Nt = 0

or simplifying:

Tleft sin(30o) + Tright sin(55o) = 100 Nt .

• This is one equation in two unknowns (Tleft and Tright), so we have two simultaneous equations to solve.
