Tossing a ball up

Let’s try this problem using Conservation of Energy:

We recognize that we have kinetic energy (since we have motion), and we recognize that we have gravitational potential energy (since we have gravity); also vi=25 m/s; hi=0 m (start from the ground); vf=0 (highest point). These are all related by the Conservation of Energy:
