We start from the basic definition of energy: the capacity to do work, where work = Force thru a distance:
Elost = Ffriction * s. We still have Ffriction = mFc.
Where does this Elost go in the equation for Conservation of Energy: on the initial or final side? Is it a positive or negative amount of energy?
