Example
Using the power equation we can solve for I:
P = I*V, so 5 Watts = I * (6 volts), or
I = 5 Watts / 6 volts = 0.833 amps.
Now we can use Ohm’s Law to solve for R:
V = I*R, so
R = V/I = 6 volts / 0.833 amps = 7.2 W .
