Oscillations
Newton’s Second Law: SF = ma can be written as: SF - ma = 0 .
This is like Conservation of Energy: SV = 0 .
If we put an inductor with a capacitor with an AC voltage, we have the analogy with a mass connected to a spring that has an oscillating applied force.
In each of these cases, we get resonance.
We’ll demonstrate this in class with a mass and spring. This is the basis of tuning a radio!
